Significance:

National Science Day celebrated annually on February 28 every year commemorates the anniversary of Sir C.V. Raman’s ground-breaking discovery of the ‘Raman Effect’ in 1928.This discovery earned him the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1930, making him the first Indian to win a Nobel in the sciences. National Science Day was first celebrated in 1987, and since then, it has become a key event that fosters the spirit of scientific inquiry and innovation in

India.


The primary goals of National Science Day are to raise awareness about the importance of science in daily life, showcase achievements in the field, and encourage the development of new technologies. It also aims to popularise science among the public and inspire the next generation to pursue careers in scientific research and innovation.



National Science Day is celebrated under the event “AVISHKARA” at Sujana Vidhya Mandira school on 28/02/24. On this day students of 1 st class to 10 th class had prepared projects based on the concepts related to Environment, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The event was graced by President Smt T V Padmavathy, Secretary R Suresh, Joint Secretary Smt S Sahitya Priya, Parents and well-wishers.

Benefits of Sports in School: * Physical Health: Regular physical activity through sports helps students maintain a healthy weight, strengthens their cardiovascular system, improves bone density, and reduces the risk of chronic diseases. * Mental Health: Engaging in sports can reduce stress, anxiety, and depression. It releases endorphins, natural mood boosters, and promotes a sense of well-being. * Academic Performance: Studies have shown a positive correlation between physical activity and academic achievement. Sports can enhance cognitive function, concentration, and memory, leading to improved academic performance. * Social Skills: Team sports foster teamwork, cooperation, communication, and leadership skills. They provide opportunities for students to interact with peers, build friendships, and develop social connections. * Self-Esteem: Participating in sports and achieving goals can boost self-confidence and self-esteem. It teaches students the value of perseverance, resilience, and overcoming challenges. Types of Sports in School: Schools offer a wide range of sports to cater to diverse interests and abilities. Some common sports include: * Team Sports: Volleyball, Throw ball, Kabaddi, Kho Kho. * Individual Sports: Athletics, badminton. Shotput, Javeline Throw. * Indoor Sports: Chess, carrom.
